Star Map Questions
A map of the star locations in the sky above the location of your choosing at a specified date and time.
We have chosen the default time of 10 pm if no time is specified.
Even though you can’t see them there are always stars above us. The benefit of using the standard time of 10pm is that on the anniversary of your special day, you can actually use the map to locate the stars. This is because star locations are relatively unchanged from year to year.
Your star map will include all the stars and constellations, if chosen, that were present at the time, date, and location that you chose. The map is orientated so that the top of the map is the north horizon, the bottom is the south, the right is west and the left is east. It is orientated this was so that if you hold it above your head you can map the stars.
We don’t capture images on a daily basis. Who has the time for that? Instead, we use planetarium software to plot the stars and space objects for your time and location. Scientists and mathematicians, who are far smarter than we are, have cataloged the stars over hundreds of years so that we can determine where they will be at any given time and place. From there, we turn that image into a beautiful piece of art.

Prints are printed on bright white, 80lb cardstock. Crystal maps are created with brand-named, high-quality, genuine crystals. They are made in the Bohemian valley of the Czech Republic. No Chinese crystals are ever used in our prints. Prints that have foil constellations use high-quality metal foil.
These prints don’t come framed unfortunately. It’s for a couple of reasons. Shipping a framed print drives up shipping costs quite substantially. And, we would hate for the glass to break in transit and possibly ruin the print. But, good news! I have a recommendation for the exact frame you need! They are available at Michael’s craft store in the gallery wall section. They are the 8″x8″ double matted to 12″x12″. They are often on sale and if not you can use a coupon! Your print will need a mat to allow room for the crystals. Any frame and mat will work as long as the opening is at least 7.5″x7.5″ opening.
Your print is handmade from start to finish, thus there is a processing time in addition to shipping time. We will contact you within 48 hours with a proof that needs to be approved before I complete your map. Once approved, your map will be completed and shipped within 3 business days.
Maps are shipped from Canada using your selected shipping method. Shipping has been affected by COVID so please allow additional time for transit.
Standard shipping within Canada is Expedited Parcel. Upgrades include Xpresspost and FedEx Ground
Standard shipping to USA is tracked packet. Upgrades include FedEx Ground and FedEx Economy

The receiver is responsible for any taxes, fees, and duties en route.

The map needs to be delivered to a mailbox that can handle a flat 11″x9″x0.25″ rigid mailer without being bent. If you don’t have a mailbox that can receive this size of parcel please make arrangements to have it delivered to a local post office. Maps that are bent while being delivered unfortunately are not covered by insurance and are ineligible for a refund.

We will contact you with a proof to be approved within 48 hours of purchase. If we don’t hear back from you within 48 hours we will cancel your order and refund all but 15% of your money to cover the time we spent on designing it. You may contact me to restart your order within 1 month and we will walk you through the process of paying the difference once more. It is of the utmost importance that you enter an email that you can respond promptly to.
